我在伊朗长途巴士上刚好看到报道，有名英国人从西马乘坐长途巴士回新，途中却遇到车祸，因此命丧公路。我那时念头一闪，如果我就这样因某种原因，在旅途中失去生命，那远在岛国的家人朋友，会作何想。生命本来就如斯脆弱，或许是一个不经意脚一滑，或者身处不该在的地方，我的一生可能就会因此完蛋。

我并不忌讳谈及死亡，毕竟这是人生必经之路。死亡有时候之所以让人无法接受，是因为来得太意外。突如其来的噩耗往往让人措手不及，让人黯然神伤。因为喜欢旅游而到处游走，结果失去生命，这样到底又值不值得？但如果我们凡事畏畏缩缩，什么事都不敢尝试，这样的人生又有何意义？

对于冒险，我其实并不热衷。我是从事财务的，凡是都采取所谓的“计算风险”（calculated risk）。每一次出走，也一样。在任性之余，保留一点点理智，一点点谨慎。像是巴西里约热内卢的攀岩，那是真正的攀岩，后面就是大海，如果就这样跌个粉身碎骨，我会后悔吗？但我选择相信朋友，选择相信安全措施。智利阿根廷的徒步登山也是同一个道理，选择一个人徒步，并不是刻意要耍酷，而是计算过难度后，才进行的。

其实就算不出国，也可能会祸从天降。火灾、车祸、溺水。有些事，无论身在何处，是福不是祸，是祸躲不过。我尽量不想太多，反正我也无法预知未来。既来之，则安之。在路上，学会看开，学会豁达，也学会凡事不要往坏处想。

如果就这样说拜拜，我想我也没太多遗憾。这世界，我曾经来过。

did u pitch tents when u did w trek or stay in refugio?

stayed in refugio. the winds were at 100km/hr, so not recommended for tents :)

you booked ahead of your trip?those i asked all pitched tents, but the load seems daunting.

I went during the off season so didn't book ahead.. when I was at the briefing at erractic rock, I was the only person there... heard got people's tent blown away at night cos really strong winds. the refugio owner was so worried that the glass may shatter due to the strong winds.
